Digitalisation

Construction products are expected to be among the first product categories covered under the EU Ecodesign for Sustainable Products Regulation (ESPR). In this context, Digital Product Passports (DPPs) are set to be introduced for construction products, including fixing products.

The DPP is intended to provide structured, digital product information across the value chain. CFE supports a coherent and streamlined approach in which the DPP becomes the single source of truth for meeting key information requirements stemming from the Construction Products Regulation (CPR), the General Product Safety Regulation (GPSR), REACH, CLP, the Packaging Regulation, and related legislation, thereby delivering tangible benefits for manufacturers, distributors, and end users.

In parallel, the digital Declaration of Performance and Conformity (digital DoPC) under the CPR will further strengthen the digital availability of compliance and performance information. Ensuring alignment between the digital DoPC and the DPP will be essential to avoid duplication and to establish an efficient, interoperable digital framework for the construction sector.
