This was promised by the EC when the proposal for the new CPR was presented. But the EAD route will be slowed down by the reversed publication process for EADs and ETAs. Based on past experience, publication of EADs will still take years and will delay the CE marking substantially.

Most likely, manufacturers will consider national approvals to qualify their new products in due time.
